Tord Gustavsen Ensemble - Ao vivo

a light at the end of the tunnel
We're all wired into a survival trip now. No more of the speed that fueled the sixties.in Thompson, Hunter S. - Fear and loathing in Las Vegas: a savage journey to the heart of the American dream (1971).
That was the fatal flaw in Tim Leary's trip. He crashed around amerika selling consciousness expansion to anyone who would listen. All those pathetically eager acid freaks who thought they could buy Peace and Understanding for 3 bucks a hit. But their failure, is ours too, because what Leary took down with him was the central illusion of a whole lifestyle he helped create.
A generation of permanent cripples, failed seekers, who never understood the essential old mystic fallacy of the acid culture, that desperate assumption that someone, or at least some Force, was tending the light at the end of the tunnel.

production od added value
The next issue of CONDITIONS will focus on possibilities to expand the ambitions beyond the given assignment. Is the architect reduced to a service provider or should they take on responsibility to secure the common good? In most countries citizens pay tax or VAT to contribute to society in general, healthcare, social services, education etc. It is a system taking care of and ensuring the welfare of the citizens. What is the VAT of architecture? Who is responsible for adding the extra? Why should architecture engage? What is the right or appropriate strategy to ensure the productions of common value within architecture?
We are looking for speculative, provocative texts as well as projects exploring the production of added value.
Send your abstracts to submission@conditionsmagazine.com within 12th of February. Deadline for final submissions is 10th of March.

You're gonna die!
Lyrics after the break! MUST SEE.
Live life
Live life like you're gonna die
Becasue you're gonna
I hate to be the bearer of bad news
But you're gonna die
Maybe not today or even next year
But before you know it you'll be saying
"Is this all there was?
What was all the fuss?
Why did I bother?"
Now, maybe you won't suffer maybe it's quick
But you'll have time to think
Why did I waste it?
Why didn't I taste it?
You'll have time
Because you're gonna die.
Yes it's gonna happen because it's happened to a lot of people I know
My mother, my father, my loves
The president, the kings and the pope
They all had hope
And they muttered just before they went
Maybe, I won't let go
Live life like you're gonna die
Because you are
Maybe you won't suffer maybe it's quick
But you'll have time to think
Why did I waste it?
Why didn't I taste it?
You'll have time
'Cause you're gonna die
I tell you who else left us
Passed on down to heaven no longer with us
Johnny Cash, JFK, that guy in the Stones
Lou Gehrig, Einstein, and Joey Ramone
Have I convinced you?
Do you read my lips?
This may come as news but it's time
You're gonna die
You're gonna die
By the time you hear this I may well be dead
And you my friend might be next
'Cause we're all gonna die
Yeah, oh maybe you won't suffer and maybe it's quick
But you'll have time to think
Why did I waste it?
Why didn't I taste it?
You'll have time
You'll have time cause you're gonna die
Yes, you're gonna die
You're gonna die, I tell you
You're gonna die
You are gonna die
'Cause maybe you won't suffer maybe it's quick
But you have time to think
Why did I waste it?
Why didn't I taste it?
You'll have time 'cause you're gonna die
Live Life
Life life like you're gonna die
Because you're going to
Oh yes
I hate to be the beater of bad news
But you're gonna die
Maybe not today or even next year
But before you know it you'll be saying
"Is this all there was?
What was all the fuss?
Why did I bother?
Why did I waste it?
Why didn't I taste it?"
You'll have time, baby
You'll have time
'Cause you're gonna die
You are gonna die
Oh yeah

muro3 - competition by dédalo
Muro3 is a competition which will enrich RePlace - dédalo magazine's seventh number to be published in March of the current year. Dédalo Magazine suggests a call-for-ideas for interventions on both of the Oporto University's Faculty of Architecture's entry points. It's objectives are found somewhere between the critical analysis of the architectural space and the power of intervention in a previously built local. That being said we open the competition to everyone, students and professionals alike, specially in the fields of architecture, design and the arts. The proposals may either reflect a multidisciplinary approach or be solely devoted to architecture or one the art fields - sculpture, painting, performance, etc.Being part of the magazine's next number, the participants are expected to reflect on issues of place and site-specificity.
Sean Riley & The Slowriders? Anyone?
digital harinezumi
Japanese design firm Superheadz is well-renowned for its innovative film cameras such as the Blackbird, Fly and the cutesy Ikimono. However, the company has recently introduced its first digital camera, the Digital Harinezumi.in Crave
As with Superheadz's other snappers, the 2-megapixel Digital Harinezumi produces pictures with a soft, out-of-focus feel. The colors emulate that of Lomo shooters--often quirky and sometimes unsaturated. Although this snapper has an LCD screen, shutterbugs won't be able to use it to frame shots. Instead, the firm has incorporated a plastic viewfinder on top of the camera for that purpose. As for the display, it is reserved for viewing pictures only.
Take your time to look through the galleries in the official webpages... Also, read this interview on Nick Dangerfield - author of the video above - on El País.
