Cutting Ice To Snow In A Dream

My favourite Danes, Efterklang, have released a new video for their song Cutting Ice to Snow, which can be found on Efterklang´s second album "Parades" from October 2007. The video is directed by Jeremiah Zagar and consists entirely of deleted scenes and alternate takes from his award winning documentary In A Dream.

In A Dream, directed by Jeremiah Zagar, is an exploration into the life of his father, the remarkable mosaic artist Isaiah Zagar. Over the past four decades, Isaiah Zagar has covered more than 50,000 square feet of Philadelphia with stunning mosaic murals. In A Dream is a documentary feature film that chronicles his work and his tumultuous relationship with his wife, Julia. It follows the Zagars as their marriage implodes and a harrowing new chapter in their life unfolds.

fanfarlo

When sigur rós’s friends fanfarlo were casting around for suitable inspiration for the cover of their debut album, ‘reservoir’, jónsi - hearing of the band’s love of czech photographer jan saudek - suggested they check out his sister lilja’s photography. upon investigating lilja’s myspace, the fanfarlo boys and girls decided to use an atmospheric shot lilja had taken of two young girls in nightgowns - one of them mysteriously masked - to grace the record’s front sleeve. only later did they realise that the masked girl was in fact none other than rósa (aka sigurrós, jónsi’s youngest sister), whose birth 15 years ago gave name to, well, you know who. as you can see here it’s a great album sleeve (for a great album if we may add)."

EVOL

Evol’s is one of the most interesting street artist that i known. He’s curretly displaying his new works at the WILDE Gallery in Berlin. Evol’s interests have focused on the overlooked and the refuse of urban society, offering visual comments and thoughts that remind us of the failure of modernism and its visions of an architectural utopia. EVOL draws our attention to the collective memory of places, a memory that is open ended, but in it’s decoding always seems to remain strangely personal.
